I used to clash parts of my outfit all the time when I was younger. It looked horrible most of the time. Mainly because I styled it the wrong way. Now I’m starting to get the hang of it thanks to Karen from Wheredidugetthat.com. I’ve been following her for at least seven years because I love, love her style. It’s definitely not my style, but I have learned a lot from her when it comes to putting outfits together. I learned how to use patterns and clashing them better because of her. So here’s a clashing outfit with a brown teddy coat and cowboy boots.

You know I love a good basic top and that’s why I started my outfit with a black turtleneck by Mango. At first, I wanted to put high waisted black skinny jeans on. But I quickly realized that it would be too black. Normally I would not be bothered by that, but I’m trying to stop playing it safe by just wearing all black. That’s why I chose to wear blue skinny jeans by H&M and tuck the turtleneck in. I chose a velvet belt with a gold art deco inspired belt buckle by Zara. This gives my waist some definition and the gold buckle matches my jewelry.

A quick note on the jewelry, it’s all from Fashionology. It’s a Dutch brand I discovered a few years ago. They sell amazing minimalistic jewelry and trust me, it’s all made of good quality materials. I opted for a necklace and matching bracelet to upgrade my outfit. The dainty style of this set elevates the outfit without too much effort. Talking about an upgrade: The brown teddy coat and cowboy boots are amazing! I can’t believe I was able to buy these two items on sale for very low prices.

The cowboy boots definitely go with the black turtleneck and belt. The white shaft creates a bit of a clash. But since it’s white, it’s still neutral enough to go with the outfit. The brown teddy coat by H&M is also in a neutral color, but it still clashes a bit style wise. To be honest, I don’t really care. I love how it takes your eyes from the boots to the coat and back. The coat is an eye catcher and so are the boots. As all of the items are in neutral colors, I’m not too worried about a bad clash. I actually quite like this look.

The only thing I’m not sure of is the bag with the shoes. It’s the L.K. Bennet Mariel bag which I’ve been lusting for, for at least a few years now. I bought one in burgundy before, but I had to return it because it was scratched up. This new bag is in a neutral beige tone called Putty. Looking at the pictures now, it doesn’t match with the shoes at all. I think I’ll pick a black bag next time, that would look a bit chicer. Although the bag does look really good with the coat, contrast all the way baby!
What do you think of this teddy coat with cowboy boots, hit or shit?
