If it was up to me, I’d eat all day. But if I want to keep wearing my pants, I shouldn’t. However, eating is a really important for everyone and I love it. I know many of my readers and Youtube subbies love it too. One of my most requested videos is the What I eat in a day concept. These videos are so much fun to make, but they take quite some time. Therefore, I thought it would be fun to go blog style once in a while and share my meals through pictures. It’s a nice, old school and very effective to share what I eat with you. I shot all of the pictures on my phone, so you get a real and raw look into my first food diary.

Food diary: Friday January 17, 2020.
Calories: 1399.
Carbs: 60 grams.
Fats: 77 grams.
Protein: 110 grams.
Style of eating: Intermittent fasting and low carb.
I started my day with drinking water and kept that up until 12.00 in the afternoon. That’s when I decided to break my fast with a Tasty Basics cracker. I found these at the supermarket a few weeks ago and I love them. These crackers are 25 grams each and only contain 3,7 grams of carbs. Eating mostly Keto and low carb means I rarely eat something with a good bite. These crackers have solved this problem for me and they also add some fiber to my diet. I added a layer of tuna spread and topped it of with one boiled egg, yum!

I was also very proud of myself for packing an additional lunch. I’ve been getting up at 06.00 am in the morning since last week. This gives me time to actually prepare lunch, instead of having to buy food on the go and spend unnecessary money. I packed one of my favorite salads filled with healthy fats. It’s a mackerel salad with white cheese cubes and a creamy low carb dressing. You can find the recipe here and I recommend giving it a try. It’s very filling and perfect for a Keto or low carb diet.

I’ve also been practicing portion control as much as I can. Along with listening to my body, which means I stop eating when I’m full. I packed one small chocolate biscuit by Bonne Maman, and one cube of Lindt macaron chocolate. I also had half of a Barebells bar left which I also ate. It’s the white chocolate almond bar but I don’t like it, so I won’t buy it again. The other Barebells flavors are a bit better in my opinion. Overall, I’m very proud of being able to eat just a few small snacks and actually feeling satisfied. Success!

Next up is dinner, which was a strange situation because I was really tired when I came home. I decided to eat some store-bought carpaccio as a starter. I was really tired, but very hungry when I got home. That’s why I thought I’d have a small in between meal. That resulted in cooking very late around 19.00 and not making veggies. I was too tired and craving some honey chicken. So I fried my tempura chicken nuggets twice and ate them with my favorite sweet and sour sauce. Everything made from scratch of course!

You know I’m always honest about my food intake, so here’s a small confession. I had visited the Asian supermarket before I came home from work. And I discovered Danish cookies in a tin, childhood nostalgia caught me right away! I had to buy a small box of these cookies, knowing these were my favorite as a child. I’ve been searching high and low for these, only to find them at the Asian supermarket, haha! So I had two cookies to end my day, ending my carb intake over 50 grams. Which is a shame because up to 50 grams is still Keto. But hey, I could not resist, and 60 grams is still good in my book.

And this was my first food diary of 2020. I really hope you like this new concept and let me know if you want me to do these articles more often. I’d love to do it!
