Who doesn’t want more money? I always want more money and not for the money itself, but for all the things I can do with it. But it can be very hard to earn more money. Especially when you work for a company where you get a set salary per month. It might take years before you get a raise or a different job title with more income. That’s why I want to share my tips on how to start a side hustle to make more money. It’s not as hard as you think, and you can start right away. So, let’s make more money honey!
Do what you love to do
The first step is to figure out what you love to do and turn that into a side hustle. Let me give you a few examples. You might love building websites, sketching out designs, cutting hair, selling second hand items or walking dogs in your free time. Why not turn this into your side hustle? You see, some of the richest people in the world started doing what they love as a side hustle. Doing something you love makes it easier and even more fun when you make some extra cash.
This is how I started my first side hustles: Blogging and vlogging. I sold my first paid advertorial for a €150, which was a lot of money for a student at the time. I didn’t take me much longer to sell a Youtube video for €350. Yup, that’s a good side hustle. Because I definitely wasn’t making that kind of money during my job on the weekends. Therefor my best advice is to figure out what you love doing. There is always someone that can use your special skills, you just need to get the word out there!

Set it up
Whatever side hustle you pick, you’re going to need to be professional about it. This goes for everyone who sells something. The first thing I would advise you to do, is to setup a website. It doesn’t cost a lot of money these days and it helps you attract more clients. Simply because most people Google when they need something, and your website needs to pop up immediately. Depending on the product or service you’re selling, you need to set a price or hourly rate. Even side hustles need a good price, otherwise it might cost you money.
Physical products always vary in prices a lot, but you can start selling services at €50 per hour. This will cover all your expenses when you first start, and you’ll be able to save some money. Which is probably why you want to start a side hustle in the first place. Make sure you check with your tax office and chamber of commerce how to setup a business. If that is even necessary for your side hustle. In some cases, it isn’t even needed to get a VAT-number, so do your research.

Spread the word
You know what you love to do and you’ve got a website with products to sell. Now it’s time to spread the word. Ask your family and friends for recommendations. Tell them to send people who are looking for help in your area to you. Share what you’re going to do on Facebook, Instagram and any other social media account you have. Don’t forget to reach out yourself. For example: If you’re a gardener start talking to people in your neighborhood before the summer starts. Offer them a good deal for a summer proof garden.
There are also a lot of aspiring entrepreneurs and small businesses that could use your help. Don’t be shy and offer your services. Don’t be pushy but let them know you’re around to help. Small business owners often have small tasks they don’t want to do themselves. Here’s where you come in and take some work of their hands. Ask them for referrals and place them on your website to attract more customers. Don’t forget to share your results on social media, you never know who’s watching!
How to start a side hustle?
Well, now you know! Start with something you already love to do. Start a website, set your prices and off you go! A side hustle is a really good idea, because those extra few bucks really can make a difference. It also gives you more independence, because you’re not just relying on your day job anymore.
