Oh yes, it’s time for a Kodiak power cakes flapjack and waffle mix review. I have been seeing this brand in Nikki Blackketter’s vlogs for at least a year now. At first, they didn’t really grab my attention, until I saw Nikki using their mixes over and over again. I got curious and finally found them in the Dutch body en fit webshop. They unfortunately only sell the buttermilk and honey or power cakes version, which is the one I bought.
The reason why I bought the Kodiak power cakes flapjack and waffle mix, is because I wanted to try something else for breakfast. Eating Keto means I often enjoy a warm breakfast with eggs. Sometimes I just want something crunchy and sweet. The Kodiak flapjacks and waffles looked delicious in Nikki’s vlogs, so it was worth a try. Now I have to say it was a really good decision, because the Kodiak power cakes flapjack and waffle mix is amazing!
You need one cup or 53 grams of the mix for one portion. Which means you’ll eat 30 grams of carbs, 2 grams of fat and 14 grams of protein. This makes you one big waffle or four small pancakes. Yeah, I had to look up what flapjacks are, haha! I’ve never heard of this description for a small pancake before. Either way, the taste of the waffles and flapjacks is amazing. I’ve never had a better version of either before.

I have to be honest, I was afraid that it would taste horrible. Most protein products don’t taste good to me and they feel heavy on the stomach. Neither do I like normal Dutch pancakes or waffles, because they make me feel very bloated. They also give me a stomachache since they can be pretty heavy. The Kodiak power cakes flapjack and waffle mix helps me create perfect lightweight pancakes and waffles. The taste is amazing too, in my opinion! I do reccommend using a real waffle iron, because baking them in the pan makes them look a bit less appetizing.
They are actually quite sweet and a little crunchy. I like eating them with some golden syrup. It’s the perfect combination in my opinion. It’s not something I eat on a daily basis, but it is nice to have for when I have a crunchy craving. I just add water, mix the Kodiak power cakes flapjack and waffle mix up and bake myself some goodness. It can’t be any easier, haha! The reason why I don’t use it every day is because I eat Keto style.
One portion of the flapjacks or waffles contains 30 grams of carbs. Which is a lot for someone who likes to eat Keto. But once in a while, on the weekends or whenever I have a craving, this Kodiak product is a lifesaver. It’s pricier than a normal pack of pancakes, it cost me €5,90 for one pack. But I’ve had it for two months now and used it two times. So, I guess I’m getting my money’s worth. I will definitely buy it again and I wish they had more flavors in the Netherlands.
Have you tried a Kodiak product and which one do you recommend?

I just came across this. I use kodiak cakes and put the cashew or almond milk in with one egg , this increases the protein to close the gap between carbs and protein.
