Don’t get me wrong, as a make-up artist I love me some shaping powder. But I think we have neglected bronzers since shaping powders became popular. The first time I had bronzer on my face was during a fashion show. I was modeling with some friends and one of them applied some bronzer on my cheekbones before hitting the runway. I didn’t really think much of it then, but when I saw the pictures later I was blown away. It looked so sexy and sultry! Bronzers have been on my mind since that day. I can’t believe I’ve never written about the Guerlain Terracotta bronzer before. This is one of the oldest and most sold bronzers in the world. It has been around since 1984, wow! The reason why I really like the Guerlain Terracotta bronzers, is because there are so many options. I’m showing you two of my favorites in this article. The first one is the Guerlain Terraccotta light sheer bronzing powder with the mosaic print. This bronzer is sheer as the name suggests and has more than one shade for the perfect glow. It is perfect for light skinned women, who’d love a bit of ‘natural’ tan on their face.

This bronzer has been in my drawer for years and I still haven’t run out. I use it a lot during the spring and summer. When it’s too hot to wear foundation and I still want to look like I’m a little dolled up. I have a pretty pale skin with a very strong yellow undertone. That’s why I never turn out orange with this bronzer. I also love the glow it gives me because of the small shimmers.

The second bronzer by Guerlain is the Terracotta bronzing powder. This truly is one of the best bronzers in the world, in my opinion. There are many shades to choose from and therefor every skin color can get the perfect match. This bronzer is long lasting and there are many shimmery shades available. This bronzer is perfect if you want to add some tan fast. This Terracotta bronzing powder isn’t that shimmery though, so you can create a very natural look. This bronzer will also look gorgeous when you already have a tan or a dark skin tone.

Let’s talk structure because Guerlain nailed it! I love how soft and creamy the Guerlain Terracotta bronzers are. There is almost no fall out and they are easy to blend. They are very pigmented as well, so you have to be careful when applying. A little goes a long way and when it sticks, it sticks! I always advice people to start with a light layer and add more if you want to. The Terracotta bronzer is also amazing when it comes to the shade selection. Like I said earlier, they have a lot of shades and it doesn’t matter what skin color you have.

The Terracotta bronzing powder is very expensive compared to bronzers by other brands. The bronzers cost around €50 a piece at Douglas and Bijenkorf, but they are worth it if you ask me. You see, these bronzers will last you a very long time. You don’t need another once you get the perfect match. So if you are looking to invest in a bronzer, definitely check out the Terracotta bronzing powder. They have many versions, so you will be able to find the perfect match. Trust me when I say this is a holy grail product.
