The spring is slowly peeking through, with sunshine and a beautiful blue sky. Yes, it’s still a bit windy here in the Netherlands, but I am definitely able to wear a dress. Last month, I happened to find the perfect black flower dress that actually fits me. It’s synched at the waste and it’s pretty long, but not too long. I can wear this dress with flat shoes if I want to, but you already know I prefer a high heel. As it’s not that sunny yet, I decided to style this beautiful black flower dress really simple with a pair of sock boots.
Yes, these sock boots are amazing and I’m so happy I was able to get my hands on them. They’re from Steve Madden and they are very comfortable, yet very high and stylish. What more could you want as a minimalist in pursuit of an awesome outfit!? That’s right, nothing! Because these sock boots are pretty perfect, if you ask me. Go ahead, ask me. I will say yes. Over to the black flower dress, which is extraordinary! It’s really hard for me to find dresses that fit my curvy and short body. Usually, dresses are too long and too tight around the boobs.
Thankfully this dress fits me perfectly. I found it at Costes, a high street store with reasonable priced clothes. I’ve been shopping there every now and then for a few years. They have really nice and trendy items, along with some classic pieces you can wear all year round. Just like this amazing black flower dress, which has a seventies silhouette. That means it has a fitted top, sleeves with a slight poof just above the wrists and a synched waist. The skirt is midi length and it has some flow to it.
I did add a suede waist belt with western style buckles in silver. I think it helps synch in my waist even better and it adds an interesting detail to the outfit. The dress has silver thread woven into the fabric, which gives it a special detail and some glamour. I thought it was a nice touch to add the belt with the same hardware shade. Aaah, I can’t wait to wear this dress out and about even more when the weather is warmer. I’m just so in love and I am definitely going to invest in more dresses like this for the upcoming spring and summer.
