I was born in the eighties and I grew up in the nineties. Which means I always had access to the most colorful outfits you can imagine. And it was awesome! One of the trends back then was tie dye and its back baby! Honestly, I think it’s debatable if it’s back, because tie dye returns every summer. And for good reason, it’s just such a fun looking print and it’s always unique because of the way it’s made. That’s why I couldn’t resist creating a tie dye t-shirt dress outfit for this coming summer.
I found my tie dye t-shirt dress at H&M, where else? I’ve been loving H&M for the last year, because they always have something that actually fits me and my aesthetic. However, I was a little on the fence about this t-shirt dress because I love the color scheme but the print, not so much. But when I first put it on, I found it didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. It’s just a very simple tie dye t-shirt dress for casual occasions, which is what I bought it for. It’s perfect for running quick errands or hanging at with friends during the summer.
This t-shirt dress is long enough to cover my butt and I can synch in the waist with a belt if I want to. For this outfit I decided to lean into the loose fit aesthetic. Not every outfit needs to be skintight and I actually love the comfort of a loose fit. I paired this t-shirt dress with my favorite classic white Reebok sneakers for a fresh touch. It gives me princess Diana vibes, who always wore white tennis shoes under her workout clothes. I just love how that makes the outfit look fun, fresh and free.
Remember I bought that oversized denim jacket? Well, I’m using it for this outfit too. If you really want to lean back into that nineties tie dye vibe, you might as well really go for it, right!? Stacking oversized pieces helps you get there and if you want to add a bit of shape, use a belt to synch your waist. The last item I used to finish this outfit is my beloved Herschel mini nova bag in grey. The grey color matches almost every outfit and the size is perfect for a nice day out. Aaah, I really love this tie dye t-shirt dress outfit.
