I have been loving this mascara for years! I only stopped buying it because I stopped working at Sephora. No more discount, so over to the budget version, haha! But I have to be honest, I don’t mind paying a bit more for a good mascara. So a few months ago I bought the Yves Saint Laurent Volume effet faux cils waterproof mascara again. This mascara is the best mascara I ever had and I’ll keep buying it from now on.
The reason why I love this mascara so much is because it keeps my straight and thin lashes up in a curl all day long. They also look much longerand fuller than they actually are. I use my Emite lash curler to get the curl in. I then use three to four coats of the Yves Saint Laurent Volume effet faux cils waterproof mascara. To some that might seem like a lot of layers, but to me it’s peanuts. Especially when I compare it to the lash routine I have with other mascara’s.
When I use drugstore mascara’s I usually put on a base with the L’oreal Telescopic mascara. After that I use a different mascara to add some volume. Even though I combine two mascara’s, the results never look as good as with the Yves Saint Laurent Volume effet faux cils waterproof mascara. I find that the brush on the Volume effet faux cils mascara is perfect for thin lashes. It really grabs all of the hairs and it’s small enough to get the smaller ones.
It’s also amazing when it comes to separating, adding length and volume. Yes, this is a really good mascara. I started wearing it this month again and people asked me if I had done something to my lashes. My mother noticed they were much longer and fuller than usual, score! And yes, I do use the waterproof version. I find that waterproof mascara’s are better at holding the curl and they don’t smudge.
I take it off with the Clinique Take the day off remover. It comes of very easy with a make-up remover like that. If you are not into waterproof mascara’s you can also use the normal version of the Yves Saint Laurent Volume effet faux cils mascara. It’s just as good in my opinions. The price of this mascara is €35,- at Bijenkorf.nl, but I bought mine for less during a promotion at Ici Paris. So keep your eyes open to score this mascara for less.
Have you ever tried this mascara and did you like it?
