I’m a little late to the party but you know, work… But here it is, my winter capsule wardrobe for 2020. I love creating a capsule wardrobe and this is my fourth edition, whoop whoop! I think I skipped posting a spring and one fall capsule wardrobe last year. That’s why I’m currently om my fourth capsule wardrobe. I’m getting better at curating it every time and I love seeing how my style is improving because of it. I hope you can see that in my outfit articles and in this new capsule wardrobe video, check it out!
The lifestyle
A capsule wardrobe should always fit your lifestyle. Mine recently changed because dog died, which means I don’t have to dress down anymore. I can wear prettier clothes and I don’t have to worry about getting small dirty paw prints on my clothes. Don’t get me wrong, I miss my dog like crazy and I would trait anything in the world to get him back. But I’d be lying if I said I don’t enjoy dressing up more now.
My life mostly evolves around being at the office with colleagues and clients. I’m on the road a few times a month and I’m also at home a lot. Therefor my winter capsule wardrobe for 2020 is filled with dressier items. It’s a first, I usually have a lot of basic t-shirts and sweaters. Now I’m rocking blouses, dresses and blazer. It makes me feel like a million bucks and I love it! I think we can conclude I have working woman lifestyle, with some casual elements.
My signature style
Your style is the way you dress. It’s a way to tell the world what you’re about through your outfits. I used to wear basic pieces all the time and in the famous words of Eleanor Shellstrop… ‘Yah girl was basic!’ Because I didn’t have a mission for myself, I never knew what I was good at or what I wanted to do with my life. It definitely showed through my outfits. They were boring as fudge, but there were always a few things I always gravitated towards. These elements are definitely part of my signature style.
For example, in my capsule wardrobe you will always find a few basic black V-neck t-shirts. I will always have a pair of black high heels and ankle boots. I will always have a few items with a bright or emerald color, like my favorite red boots. There’s almost always something vintage in there and I love a good designer bag. I like clothing that shows of my hourglass figure and I love long painted nails. My hair is also almost always long and straightened. And my outfits tell you I mean business with whatever it is I’m doing at the moment.

The theme
God, I love a theme! Creating my capsule wardrobes with a theme in mind makes it easier for me. Most capsule wardrobes you see online are filled with neutral colors. I get why people do that, but it doesn’t fit my style and it makes me feel like I blend in with the crowd too much. The theme of my winter capsule wardrobe is based on chic vintage seventies and eighties style. I have a few flowy tops, some classic white Reebok sneakers and a great blazer. I also added some majestic looking blouses with animal prints, love it!
They say brown is the new black, and I have to agree. Although black clothing will always have special place in my heart, I love how brown brings some warmth. It also looks very chic in a different way. It’s less harsh but you can stay dress up in brown and look like you mean it. I’m all for that and I’m very happy to have found some brown clothing items that work for me. I also have some pink pops in my wardrobe, some green and lilac. Theme wise I think this is my best winter capsule wardrobe up till now, yeah!
My accessories
I’m currently experimenting with wearing more jewelry. As I now have less eczema, I can bare to have some jewelry touching my skin. I like wearing gold or silver only, but I’m also mixing the two up once in a while. I like how that look a bit more bohemian, which fits that vintage seventies style I love so much. I should invest in better belts though, because mine are cheap ones by Zara and they’re starting to fall apart. But the belt buckles are very cool and match my jewelry.
I invested in three really nice winter coats, which you can see in this haul video. A nice brown faux fur and a deep brown teddy coat. I also got myself a nice dark blue coat that’s perfect for work, as it’s very majestic looking. Can a coat look majestic? I think so, haha! For bags I use my Fjällräven Kanken laptop back, my Herschel Nova mini, the L.K. Bennett Mariel bag and my beloved Sandro Lou bag. That’s it for accessories, I don’t really wear much else.
And that concludes my capsule wardrobe for winter 2020. I hope you like watching the video and do let me know what you think of my collection.
Love you lots,
