Yes, here it is: The green corduroy overshirt outfit. I bought this corduroy overshirt last week, mainly because it meant I would get free shipping. Yes, I am that woman. To be honest, I had this shirt in my hands a few days before when I visited the Stradivarius store. It was so busy that I put it back on the rack and decided not to buy it. I also wasn’t sure if it would look good on my short frame. Until I styled it for this outfit article, I was going to return it. Sometimes all it takes is to find a good way to style an item.

The green corduroy overshirt is by Stradivarius. I’ve bought a really nice sweater there once before and they have pretty cool items at the moment. I’m not surprised I found something nice at this store again. Back to the overshirt, I used to hate corduroy when I was little. My mother would buy me corduroy pants and dungarees, but I hated the way the fabric felt on my skin. Corduroy can be a heavy and sometimes scratchy fabric. Which isn’t nice if you have sensitive skin or eczema like me.

This corduroy fabric is actually really, really thin and soft. I also love the green color, as it’s a bit muted but still bright enough to catch your eye. I have developed a thing for soft and muted colors. I chose the green overshirt, because I didn’t want to go for my usual pick which is blue. The green brings out the same color in my eyes and I love how fresh it looks with the white classic Reebok sneakers. I combined the white sneakers with a ribbed cream white body string, which has a high collar. It creates a nice airy contrast with the green corduroy overshirt. I can’t find the brand anywhere, but I found a similar string body at Philip Lim.

I picked a regular waist skinny jeans by H&M to bring out the fresh elements in the outfit. I added a very simple gold necklace with a star by Fashionology. It’s not very big, but I like small details that catch your eye when you least expect it. It all ties together in this green corduroy overshirt outfit. It’s the type of outfit you can wear during the week when you’re running errands. I can also wear this to the office when I’m just working by myself or with the team.

I’m also very proud for using color in my wardrobe. Something I really want to learn because I like showing who I am through my clothes. My personal style is definitely coming together, whoohoo! I can’t forget about my favorite backpack though. It’s the Herschel Nova mini backpack in grey and I love it so much! For the longest time I wanted a Herschel backpack as I love their aesthetic, but the big ones do not look good on me. This small version does and it goes with pretty much every casual outfit I have. I use it at least two to three times a week, it’s a winner!
So what do you think, is this outfit a hit or shit? And would you wear an overshirt like this?
